7-Eleven celebrates opening of 500th store in the Philippines with cycle tour

PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 5, 2010 – To celebrate the opening of its 500th store, 7-Eleven will hold the 7-Eleven Tour 500 from 7-11 in Filinvest City, Alabang to the Tagaytay City Convention Center on August 8, 2010.
 
The 60-kilometer timed fun ride is for cycle enthusiasts of all ages. Both road bikes and mountain bikes may be used. The categories are divided according to age and gender. For pro cyclists, there is a separate Tour 500 Invitational.
 
The winner of each category will have P25,000 donated to the charity of the rider’s choice. Cash prizes will also go to the second- and third-placers. The top ten finishers will receive medals.
 
The largest convenience store chain’s 500th store officially opened on July 30, 2010 at Eton Centris on the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. The opening night street party featured performances from bands such as Sponge Cola and Rocksteady, and parkour, BMX and skateboarding stunts from extreme sports enthusiasts. Skin tattoo artists and WeWillDoodle graphic artists were also present to celebrate with guests.
