Merlee Jayme of DENTSU Jayme Syfu, Angie Tijam-Tohid of Ace Saachi & Saachi, and Maan Bautista of McCann Worldgroup Philippines will be sitting in as the Philippine judges for this year’s Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity happening at Suntec City, Singapore from September 25 to 27, 2019.
Merlee Cruz-Jayme, DENTSU Jayme Syfu’s Chairmom and Chief Creative Officer, will be leading as the Spikes Asia President for the Outdoor and Radio & Audio category. Merlee is the first Filipino to be awarded ‘The Creative of the Year’ for Southeast Asia in the Campaign Asia Pacific Agency of the Year. One of only 8 women in the ‘100 Best Chief Creative Officers in the World’, based on The Drum global ranking in 2019.
Merlee shares, “Outdoor is all about ‘impact for many.’ Today, the world is one where everyone’s head is bent down looking at the phone, immersed in that small personal space. Merlee will also be holding a session entitled “When The Glass Ceiling Seems Unbreakable” happening on the 27th of September at the Inspiration Stage at Suntec.
Angie Tijiam-Tohid, Ace Saachi & Saachi’s Creative Director is one of the judges for Film and Print & Publishing. This multidisciplinary advertising creative has been recognized in numerous international and local awards shows including NYF, Spikes, AdStars, AMEs, Direct Marketing Asia Creative Awards, Asia Pacific Tambuli, Kidlat, Araw Awards, Boomerangs among others, now leads the Digital Creative Team at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi.
Maan Bautista, McCann Worldgroup Philippines’ Creative Director, will also be a jury, specifically for the Direct category. Maan started out as a Creative Management Trainee in 2005 and is now Creative Director handling some of McCann Worldgroup Philippines’ prized brands such as Nestlé, Jollibee, and San Miguel. She has consistently brought home metals from major local and international award shows. Maan’s recent metal haul includes Gold and Silver Lions at Cannes, several Clio and LIA trophies, awards at the One Show and New York Festivals, along with back-to-back wins at Adfest, Spikes and Effies.
