MANILA, OCTOBER 10, 2012 – Derek Lorezo’s search for a new Anna is finally over. But this time, we may have to twist our tongues a little as the new girl may be Derek Lorenzo’s new “Ariabanana”.
PLDT’s hot campaign, led by Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, discovered Aria Carino who bested hundreds of other hopefuls in the nationwide search for a new Anna, following a much-discussed rejection on YouTube. Carino composed and sang an original song for Derek with the help of her two younger brothers.
All videos related to the campaign (Derek’s original video, myDSL TV commercials and Anna Benaza’s rejection video from the Anna Banana DSL Channel) generated a whopping 4 million combined YouTube video hits and three-time emerged as a trendsetting topic on Twitter.
Derek and Aria are expected to shoot a commercial soon. We will soon find out if Carino will be Derek’s “Ariabanana”.
