Rachita Dutta named as new country head for the Grey Group Sri Lanka office

COLOMBO, JUNE 3, 2013 – Industry veteran Rachita Dutta has been appointed by the Grey Group as its new country head for its operations in Sri Lanka. She is to be responsible for the development and execution of strategies to grow Grey’s client base, and is to capitalize on digital media business opportunities as well as the shift towards media campaign integration.

Dutta boasts almost two decades of experience in account management and strategic planning, including stints at Rediffusion Y&R and Lowe Delhi as its vice president. Early in her advertising career, she joined Grey Delhi as a senior account executive; during her seven-year tenure there, where she was promoted to account group head, she oversaw the launch of GSK’s Aquafresh oral care and Revlon’s Colorstay makeup range in India.

She also worked as account director at Contract Advertising. Dutta rejoined Grey as regional group account director at its Kuala Lumpur office, managing regional brand communications for brands including Sara Lee – Ambi Pur, Kiwi Shoes and other household brands. 

Dutta is to report to Grey Group Asia Pacific Chairman and CEO Nirvik Singh, who said that her appointment would help guarantee clients expert advice coming from someone with deep industry experience and understanding of strategic brand communications.

For her part, Dutta said that she is thrilled to be back and excited to lead Grey’s business development efforts in Sri Lanka. She added that she is to continue her predecessor’s good work, and help expand and strengthen Grey’s presence locally.
