Bibliophiles, unite for International Book Day

MANILA — All you passionate lovers of literature, culture, music and the arts, ready your hearts and your wallets for the 10th edition of Día Internacional del Libro or International Book Day happening on Thursday, April 23 at the Instituto Cervantes de Manila.

From 4:00-11:00pm, all you bibliophiles can dive through 4,000 brand new and secondhand book titles that will be available during the book fair. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better than that, this year, Instituto Cervantes will also be giving away hundreds of books—for free! ¡Ay, caramba!

After you’ve inhaled the pages of thousands of these books, you may also attend the round-table discussion “Encuentros en las Tetras: Literatura hispanofilipina”. Scholars will be discussing the preservation of the Filipino literary heritage.

The new Portal on Philippine Literature in Spanish of the Virtual Library Miguel de Cervantes will also be presented.

Día Internacional del Libro is a yearly affair held by Instituto Cervantes.

Instituto Cervantes is a worldwide non-profit organization created by the Spanish government in 1991. It is the largest organization in the world dedicated to the teaching of the Spanish language and increasing knowledge of culture in Latin-American Countries. It’s located at T.M.
