Ogilvy appoints former Ogilvy China staff return as national training chief for China

ASIA-PACIFIC – CHINA, AUGUST 12, 2013 – Oglivy& Mather China has named Theresa Loo its Beijing-based national training director, an appointment that marks Loo’s return to the network’s China operation.

Loo, who has close to 20 years’ worth of account service, strategic planning and consulting experience in China, has been tasked with developing all professional knowledge and skills training programs for the China team. She will also drive the Ogilvy Advanced Learning unit, which launched in 2011 and provides strategic brand consultancy and coaching services to Chinese corporations.

In her previous stint at the network, Loo was group account director for Unilever at the agency’s Shanghai office. She left Ogilvy to launch her consultancy practice for clients such as Intel and Nokia.

“At Ogilvy we believe training is sacred, particularly in a fast-changing business environment such as ours where the need for advanced professional skills is unparalleled,” said Shenan Chuang, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Greater China. “Theresa is particularly suited to this role because of her unique and rich background in account servicing, academia and theory. She has inspiring views on training that will allow staff to reach their full potential, pre-empt the market and meet clients’ ever-evolving needs.”

Loo succeeds Sandy Ng, who moved to Raynet Ogilvy, China, as its managing director, earlier this year. Loo’s appointment is effective immediately.
