MANILA, JULY 26, 2013 – The NBA season finale ranked high in Kantar National TV monthly evaluation last June, while the two giant stations in the Philippines’, Kapamilya and Kapuso, ratings battled.
As the school year started, daytime viewing levels marked a noticeable decrease compared to last May. ABS-CBN ended telenovelas and replaced with new shows aiming high in TV ratings. Ina, Kapatid, Anak aired its episode finale last June 14. Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala took its time slot last June 17 with a nationwide rating of 17.21%. Franchised talent show, The Voice of the Philippines reflected a nationwide rating of 19.90% for its premiere in Kapamilya network.
On the other hand, GMA’s trending show, My Husband’s Lover, launched in June 10, ranked more than 6 million viewers nationwide.
Alongside the local TV shows, Filipinos also tuned in the epic season finale of National Basketball Association – the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat engaged in a 7-game series for the season. The fight aired live on multiple channels, morning viewing levels increased during these games.
