For the love of film: industry people star in three short films promoting indie film festival

For those of you wondering where ex-Blackpencil ECD Lilit Reyes has gone, wonder no more. Three short films were unveiled last week, promoting Philippine independent film festival Cinemalaya.  The films were the farewell Blackpencil project for Reyes, a Palanca Award-winning screenwriter who has already created two award-winning ads (Playtime and Snapshot) for the festival, and star an assortment of familiar faces and some actual celebrities. The industry is now having a great time posting the ads on their Facebook pages, cheering on friends and seeing far more of director Erik Matti than anyone ever needed.

The films are whimsical valentines not only from Reyes, but from the A-list production teams who donated their services. After all, even the most hardened advertising person still occasionally falls in love with a big screen and a darkened room.  As the short films’ tagline puts it, “Whatever it takes."
