Eat Bulaga Bigtime!

PHILIPPINES, DECEMBER 21, 2011: A winner’s boo-boo on live television last December 17 has given birth to one of the local social media scene’s latest viral videos. Refer to the video below:

Lilvisminda Amsit of Barangay Dona Aurora in Quezon City confused her variety shows as she thanked “Willie (Revillame)” of TV5’s “Wil Time Bigtime” instead of Wally Bayola, Eat Bulaga!’s mainstay segment host for “Sugod Bahay”, who handed her her cash prize.

“Thank you, thank you, Willie,” said the grateful madam as she looked at Bayola, who then promptly corrected Amsit with a quick “Wally po.” Instead of taking umbrage at the mention of the rival host, however, segment hosts Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, and Bayola went on to spoof the controversial Revillame and his prime time variety show, to the delight of the live audience back at the studio.

Even the TVJ trio joined in the good-natured fun. “Wally ang gusto niyang sabihin, iba ang nasabi (She wanted to say Wally but she said something different),” Tito Sotto chimed in with a big laugh.

“Tanong mo kung sinong Willie (Ask her who is the Willie she’s talking about),” said Vic Sotto back at the studio.

Amsit replied with candor, “Willie Revillame po.”

Vic Sotto then came with another joke, as he referred to the prizes that Amsit has just been given, “Okay, pakikuha na lahat ‘yan, papuntahin mo sa TV5 ‘yan, dali (Okay, take all those away, ask her to go to TV5 now).”

Manalo also mimicked Revillame’s antics and even sang one of the rival host’s hit songs, while Ballesteros and Bayola acted out Wil Time Bigtime’s usual entourage of co-hosts and dancers.

In a bizarre turn of events, a Wil Time Bigtime winner that very same day thanked ABS-CBN, Revillame’s former home network, instead of TV5. The contestant, a member of the Philippine Army, was quick to apologize, but Revillame insisted that it was nothing. See the video below:

Revillame then thanked Eat Bulaga! and its hosts for spoofing him and his show, saying that he was honored to be mentioned and recognized in the country’s longest-running noon time variety show. “Saludo ako sa Eat Bulaga! dahil walang personalan.”
