There is much I could say about how honored and proud I am to receive an NYF Living Legend Award, but you’d probably cut my remarks in the interest of brevity – something no self-respecting editor can abide. Therefore, I will keep my comments short and relatively un-editable by simply saying to you: ‘awesome, thanks.’” said Carr.

The NYF Living Legend Award recognizes prominent luminaries whose personal excellence and extraordinary contributions have advanced the field of advertising, made a lasting impression on the creative community, and who continue to influence the profession in a significant way.

Carr graduated in Western Illinois University with a degree in Business/Marketing. For the past 11 years he has worked as the editor of Red Car Chicago. He was Editor/Partner at NuWorld Editorial for 7 years, Film Editor Edit/Chicago for 1 year and spent 20 years of his life at Commercial Film Editor Optimus. He also served on the Board of Directors for the A.I.C.E Chicago Chapter, and as President of A.I.C.E. for 4 years.

Carr’s editing skills have been put to use on some America’s most famous and award-winning television commercials. Carr’s client list includes Anheuser Busch, Coke, Ford, Gatorade, Levis, McDonalds, 7-UP, Toyota, and United Airlines.

Throughout his career, Carr has worked with some of the industry’s most illustrious directors. Some of the directors he had worked with are Michael Apted, Leslie Dektor, Bob Giraldi, Michael Grasso, Rob Greenberg, Steve Horn, Tony Kaye, Adrian Lyne and many more. Carr already had three New York Festivals Gold Medals for his unique editing skills.

Film director Bob Giraldi will also receive a Living Legend Tribute. “It will be a double honor for me to be on the stage with him,” said Carr.
