CAAAA works as a forum where representatives of advertising agency associations in the Asian region come together to discuss issues concerning the advertising agencies. CAAAA was registered as a Society in Singapore three years ago and therefore is a young institution. On being elected as a Chairman of CAAAA, Srinivasan K Swamy has a clear roadmap ahead. He said, “There are three important things that need our attention. First, is to develop a set of ‘business practices’ that would make our industry strong; second, to induct more countries as members into CAAAA fold; and third is to do activities and events which will make CAAAA a financially strong body to take on other industry-building efforts.”

On Swamy’s appointment as a Chairman, Yutaka Narita, former Chairman of Denstu Inc., Japan and outgoing Chairman of CAAAA commented, “I am quite confident that under the leadership of Swamy, CAAAA would continue its mission and achieve greater heights.  My best wishes and support from the Japan Advertising Agencies Association are with him to make this mission a purposeful one.”

CAAAA is engaged in developing specific ideas that would help agencies to move up in the value chain for advertisers that would help remunerate the agencies better. Other key initiatives of the CAAAA include encouraging the setting up of postgraduate education on communications in various countries and helping develop distance-learning e-platforms on integrated marketing communications. Further, CAAAA intends to conduct seminars, workshops, colloquiums and conferences across various countries through identified thought leaders and professionals, who will help raise the bar of excellence in the industry.

CAAAA members include representatives from Advertising Agencies’ Associations from the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan besides India.
