Lindslee’s new artworks on exhibit

MANILA, JULY 31, 2013 – Galleria Duemila, Inc. will uncover the new collection of Lindsey James “Lindslee” in an exhibit entitled, ‘It’s All in the Mind’.

Lindslee’s artworks is a challenge to continue his predecessors’ conventional notions of art but this time, he aims to portray the physical attributes of the painting itself.  In his new exhibit, the artworks will take the audience to a whimsical and delightful imagination. “Is it always in the minds of people that painting is Art”, “but what if I destroy, tear, roll or reverse the painting?  Is it still art?” he adds.

The Bacolod native is an artist that presented his works for the past eight solo exhibitions in the Philippines and in abroad. He also participated in numerous group shows since 1999. Lindslee holds a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Painting, University of Santo Tomas. He joined in The Art Students League at New York, USA to learn advanced training in mixed media, drawing, painting, color and composition. He often questions the norms and traditions of art in his 2008 exhibit, ‘Figuring Abstraction’ which he emphasized the normative concept of abstract art as a medium. He also had an art exhibit after the great flood “Ondoy” where he also lost his artworks in Cainta, Rizal. He proved that the storm’s wreckage was changed into art.

The exhibit will be held in August 3 to 31 at 210 Loring St., Brgy San Rafael, Pasay City. The gallery is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
