MMDA calls for citizen partnership through complaint site

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 19, 2012 – The Metro Manila Development Authority recently launched ‘Metro Solusyon’, a complaint dedicated to fighting corruption.

The site offers instant, hassle-free solution for civilians who wish to complain against MMDA officials involved in corrupt practices like “lagay”, “kotong” or “payola” and other illegal activities.

The message MMDA wishes to bring can be summarized in the site’s tagline: “Ako ang solusyon.” Metro Solusyon is a response to anonymous text messages and reports, encouraging “responsible and concerned citizens” to assist them in ridding the roads of corruption.

Citizens who wish to submit a report must include complete details such as full name of the person being complained about, relevant and material information, the act committed and they can include material evidence such as photos or videos. Reports will be made available for public perusal on the website.

Earlier this year, the MMDA Traffic Navigator, MMDA’s project with TV5, won Best Design in Interactive/Game category at the 2012 adobo design awards. Last year, it took home a Bronze Boomerang Award for Innovation by IMMAP only two months after launching.
