CANNES – Reportage by Getty Images has signed for exclusive representation, the MacArthur Foundation Genius recipient American photojournalist Lynsey Addario. A leader in her field, Addario has covered conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Darfur, and Congo, and shot features across the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa highlighting the human crisis of war to the world.
A regular contributor to The New York Times, National Geographic, and TIME, Addario covers conflict, humanitarian crises and stories addressing human rights abuses. Currently based in London, Addario is a self-taught photographer and began her professional career in 1996.

Addario has received multiple awards for her work including the POYi Award 2011 for Issue Reporting Story-Magazine Editing (National Geographic), the OPC’s Olivier Rebbot Award 2010 for Veiled Rebellion: Afghan Women, and a joint Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for International Reporting for her work in Waziristan (Sept. 7, 2008).
Addario graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in International Relations and Italian and studied economics and political science at the University of Bologna in Italy. She is a graduate of the World Economic Forum Young Global leaders Class of 2013, a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship in 2009 and was awarded the Getty Images Grant for Editorial photography in 2008 for her work in Darfur.
