The Minion Domination

MANILA – The Minions movie just opened yesterday and it has already displaced Toy Story 3 as the second biggest opening of an animated movie in history, earning a total of $115.2 million in North America alone.

Of course, Manila is no stranger to the Minion Mania. Marketing campaigns left and right are going bananas to piggyback on the minion phenomenon.

The loyal Minion front liner McDonald’s is back with a bigger and better line of Minions products–the Minions Banana Festival starting of with the 10 collectible Minions toys, and a variety of banana-flavored desserts: Honey Banana McFloat, Banana McFlurry with Oreo, Banana Crumble McFlurry, and a Minions Banana McDip–a yellow dipped soft served ice cream on a blue wafer cone!

Monde Mamon is also joining the fun by offering a limited edition packs of Mamon Minion Maker Kits. For every packs of 6 Monde Mamon, you will get a Minion Maker Kit that contains a pouch of yellow frosting, and fondants that you can use to assemble your very own Minion mamon.

And one of the very first to jump in on the minion bandwagon, Tic Tac, produced a limited edition yellow, banana-flavored tic tac candies. The tic tac candies, after all, have an uncanny similarity with them minions, right?

Have you spotted other Minion marketing plots lately?
