MEC wins SMDC, looks forward to high rise in 2013

MANILA, FEBRUARY 25, 2013 – After an extended search for a media agency, real estate giant SMDC has awarded its business to MEC, effective January 2013.

 
SMDC chose MEC because of its proven efficiency in media planning, newly expanded capabilities in digital, its strategic alliance with WPP’s outdoor specialist Kinetic, and the trading support of its network GroupM Philippines. 
 
The residential property developer, which dominates the premium middle segment, announced its decision just before the holiday break. MEC managing director Malu Vasallo said: “Along with our efforts to provide our clients with enhanced and innovative products, working with SMDC will definitely bring MEC to greater heights in 2013.”
 
MEC, previously known as Mediaedge:cia, is the agency of record for Colgate-Palmolive, Pfizer, Wyeth, Citibank, Gardenia, and other local and multinational advertisers. It has just celebrated its first decade as an independent media agency, in addition to being hailed by RECMA as the fastest growing agency.
