It’s four years old, but still only an hour long.   Earth Hour, one of the largely-known and practiced initiatives for climate change launched in 2007 in Sydney, Australia.   Earth Hour enjoins people around the world to switch off their lights for 60 minutes, at the exact same time.

This year, Charles & Keith shares in the global efforts of the Earth Hour in raising awareness on the need to take action on climate change.  On March 27, 2010, Charles & Keith stores nationwide will switch off several lights from their stores for a full hour in support of this global initiative.

The chain encourages its patrons to join the worldwide event through “Charles & Keith supports Earth Hour tea-light candle” campaign.  On March 27, every regular purchase of Charles & Keith footwear and/or bag allows the customer to claim a lavender-scented candle made of environmentally friendly crystalline blend palm wax especially designed for the Earth Hour.  Avail of the tea-lights while in stock.

To get into the theme, the landing and homepage banner of the Charles & Keith website, CharlesKeith.com, will also go on a darker color shade to signify its support for the event.

Starting from 2.2 million homes and businesses, Earth Hour has become a global movement with hundreds of millions of people from 4,000 cities in 88 countries participating in the project.
