A look at the future of advertising at AD STARS 2011

ASIA-PACIFIC – BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA – AUGUST 16, 2011 – The organizing committee of the AD STARS International Advertising Festival 2011 have revealed the agenda for the festival. This year, there will be opportunities to learn the latest trends from speakers from around the world in a program entitled ‘the Future of Advertising’.

A total of 12 seminars will be held with speakers from various fields and countries, including world-class advertising practitioners, creativity consultants, digital marketing and public campaign experts, to set the global standard for Asia’s largest advertising festival.

In particular, the seminars offer topics that will attract widespread participation, overcoming the limitation of traditional one-directional lecture-type seminars. ‘Conversation session with Neil French’ will provide an opportunity to share criteria for good ideas and how to develop them. Kim Do-hyang, a promotional ambassador for AD STARS 2011, is an invited lecturer for a seminar for the general public on the theme “the Power of Sound”. In addition, the film-making story of director Park Chan-wook and Park Chan-kyung’s film ‘Night Fishing (Paranmanjang),’ which has drawn attention for being shot entirely on iPhone, will be told.

One of the seminars will forecast the latest trends and future of the digital sector, which has become critical not only to the advertising field, but also in daily life. Graham Kelly, executive creative director of the world’s leading digital marketing agency, OgilvyOne, will discuss the current trends of digital and its effect on the future under the topic ‘Digital’s future.’ Johan Vadkidis, ECD, AKQA Shanghai, will speak on the subject ‘Function & Emotion’ detailing the process of creating new ideas and the future models for advertising agencies.

Furthermore, covering public sector brands, which AD STARS 2011 places a strong emphasis, World Food Program’s Jonathan Dumont will introduce case studies of the UN World Food Program, and Park Hang-gi, president of Korea’s best brand consultancy Meta Branding, will talk about the future of public sector brands.

Lee Eui-ja, co-chairperson of AD STARS Executive Committee, said, “These seminars provide a venue for exchanging information that will allow participants to share the latest trends and future of the various aspects of the advertising industry. They present a good opportunity for the general public who are interested in advertising, as well as for those who work in the advertising field, to draw inspiration for creative ideas.” To attend any seminar or conference of AD STARS 2011 as an audience, fill out an application form at www. adstarsfestival.org.
