Industry holds 1st CMO Mobile Summit, an exclusive masterclass on mobile marketing

MANILA, APRIL 3, 2013 – For the first time, top-level marketing executives will have a chance to convene and discuss the future of mobile marketing in the country.

The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA), in partnership with Mobext and e-Learning Edge, is launching the CMO Mobile Summit 2013—a by-invitation-only event dedicated to mobile and its growing role in business. It will be held on May 30 at the Fort, Taguig City.

For one day only, the organizers are bringing in world-class speakers such as Aliza Knox, Managing Director – Asia Pacific for Twitter, Christian Cadeo, Head of Mobile – Southeast Asia for Google, Craig Law-Smith, Head of Strategy and Business Development – Global Advertising for SingTel, and Rohit Dadwal, Managing Director – Asia Pacific for the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). They will be joined by the heads of leading mobile marketing companies and ad networks in Asia, such as: Dr. KF Lai, Co-Founder and CEO of Buzz City; Marcus Tan, Managing Director-APAC of Smaato; Rico Wyder, Asia-Pacific Director of Fiksu; Vikas Gulati, VP for Business Development, Vserv.mobi; Kartik Ram, and Kartik Ram, Co-Founder of Glamster.

With many relevant issues to be discussed about mobile marketing, the Summit will focus on the theme “Mobile and the Path to Purchase,” particularly on how to incorporate mobile strategies throughout the consumer journey—from awareness, consideration, purchase, up to loyalty. Dedicated experts will tackle mobile social media, mobile commerce, mobile in retail, mobile CRM, app marketing, and many more.

CMOs ready for dialogue

One highlight of the Summit is the CMO Roundtable Discussion, where marketing heads of the top local brands will have the chance to share perspectives, raise questions, and give projections about mobile’s growth in the country. Some of the initial panellists include Margot Torres, VP for Marketing, McDonald’s Philippines, Sandra Puno, Director of Communications, Nestlè, and Tina Sabarre, Marketing Director, Johnson & Johnson.

PANA President Blen Fernando stresses the relevance of the Summit for the industry: “The thrust of PANA this year is to help prepare our members as leaders in the next decade and inspiring them to move from a local to a global mindset. As a CMO, I am excited to use this media but I am also very anxious because there are many aspects related to its use that I do not know much about. The CMO Mobile Summit encourages each CMO to raise the level of excellence in our work and to promote a culture of continuous learning among our team members, no matter how high up in the organization you are in.”

The CMO Mobile Summit 2013 is designed for learning and building influential networks with fellow thought-leaders in mobile. As expressed by Arthur Policarpio, Head of Mobext Asia-Pacific and Co-Chairman of the CMO Mobile Summit 2013: “We are working in a very fast-paced industry where innovators are rewarded. Attending the CMO Mobile Summit 2013 will give marketers the competitive advantage to lead in the mobile space, especially as it is still coming into its own here in the country.”

Hans Roxas Chua, CEO of eLearning Edge and Co-Chairman of the Certified Digital Marketer Program, also noted:  “Based on research and case studies, we know that mobile marketing has helped various companies tremendously. We want to share this knowledge with marketing executives during the CMO Mobile Summit. The digital revolution is underway and mobile is a key strategic pillar.”

There will only be limited slots for the event, and interested participants can request for an invite at www.mobilesummit.ph, or call +63999-854-8081 / (63) 927-0096. The Summit is also open to brand managers, marketing directors, and digital strategists of companies.
