MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Philippines is set to make its grand entry into the global gastronomic stage with the first-ever MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026, scheduled for October 30, 2025 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts.
As the newest destination to join the prestigious Michelin Guide family, the Philippines will be celebrated in an evening that honors the country’s rich culinary identity, diverse traditions, and exceptional homegrown talent.
The one-night, invitation-only event will follow the Michelin Guide’s signature format, featuring the highly anticipated unveiling of the official restaurant selection for Manila, neighboring provinces, and Cebu. The ceremony will highlight:
- The MICHELIN Guide Selected Restaurants
- The Bib Gourmand Selection
- The coveted MICHELIN Stars
- The MICHELIN Guide Special Awards, which recognize excellence across key industry areas
All selections are independently evaluated by anonymous Michelin inspectors, based on five globally applied criteria: ingredient quality, mastery of technique, harmony of flavors, expression of the chef’s personality, and consistency.
Following the announcement, guests will enjoy a curated cocktail reception led by world-class chefs, including:
- Guillaume Galliot of Caprice (Three MICHELIN Stars, Hong Kong & Macau 2025)
- Darren Teoh of Dewakan (Two MICHELIN Stars, Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2025)
- Tim Flores and Genie Kwon of Kasama (One MICHELIN Star, Chicago 2025), the first Filipino restaurant to earn a MICHELIN star
- Vicky Cheng of VEA (One MICHELIN Star, Hong Kong & Macau 2025)
- Newly awarded restaurants from the inaugural Philippine selection
The ceremony will bring together esteemed chefs, restaurateurs, industry leaders, media representatives, and the MICHELIN Guide’s partners for a landmark night of culinary celebration.
To ensure broader access, the event will be live-streamed via the MICHELIN Guide Asia YouTube channel, allowing food lovers worldwide to witness the Philippines’ historic induction into the MICHELIN Guide.
