JWT wins Agency of the Year in MENA Cristal, the region’s first awards show

Singapore – JWT and Leo Burnett dominated this year’s MENA Cristal awards, both capturing three Grand Cristal Awards.  JWT Dubai won “Agency of the Year” while Leo Burnett won “Network of the Year”.  

JWT Dubai won the Grand Cristal at both the MENA and the European Awards show for their innovative “Stress Ball,” which was created for the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

The agency also won eight other awards including: Cyber/Fashion: “Le Mall Website”, Acres Holding; Promotion/Food: ” A Smarties World”, Nestle; Promotion/IT: “MOMKEN Deqeqa”, Vodafone; Magazine/ Beauty: “Eviction”, Johnson & Johnson; Magazine/ Home: “Front Hook Bra”, K-Lynn; Outdoor/Ambient: “HSBC New Branch Red Line”, HSBC; Corporate/Print: “Terrabiz”, Terranet; Film/Food: “The Chunky Boys”, Nestlé.

The MENA Cristal Festival was started in 2005 to help develop the burgeoning talent within the Middle East and North Africa.  It was the first event to bring together all the countries in the region and is now on its fifth year.

This year, Richard Pinder, Publicis Chief Operating Officer, acted as Festival President.  John Merrifield, TBWA APAC Creative at Large, served as Jury President, managing Film, Radio, Outdoor, Magazine and Daily Press Cristal competitions.  Roy Haddad, JWT MENA CEO, led the Corporate and Integrated Jury.
