Kat Gomez-Limchoc is Blackpencil’s new ECD

THE PHILIPPINES, MAY 25, 2012: The driving force behind Aspac/Law’s triumph as Independent Agency of the Year award Kat Gomez-Limchoc moves to Leo Burnett’s special advertising unit Blackpencil as executive creative director.

During her almost two-year stint at Aspac/Law, Limchoc led the integration of the agency’s creative team and its digital arm, revitalizing the agency’s brand identity and helping formulate and introduce the philosophy of incitement. During this time, she also bagged the Maxcellence award, the agency version of “MVP” award. Her last function for Aspac was as a Kidlat Awards 2012 judge.

She has reaped recognition for her creative stewardship of many brands to market leadership, among them, LBC, Insular Life, Splash hair colors, and PICC (Aspac’s first government account).

“I have always admired the Burnett group. From the very beginning, when I was a fresh grad, I wanted a shot at being part of them. But as I was unfamiliar with Makati then, I got lost looking for their office. I never got to give my resume! I am happy that things have come full circle and I am now joining them, in a position that will help lead Blackpencil to an even more challenging and fun place,” Limchoc said.

Prior to Aspac, Limchoc was creative director of PC&V for six years, where she led a team that launched C2 Green Tea and Fab, as well as did creative duties for many other URC beverage brands. Prior to that, she was with JWT handling Univeler and Pfizer brands.

Raoul Panes, Leo Burnett Manila chief creative officer, said: “After a long wait, we finally welcome Kat to the Leo Burnett Group. Her proven creative acumen and the experience she has gained in building brands successfully will help take our creative work to the next level, doing campaigns for our clients that prove our HumanKind approach to brand building really works."
