Adobo Run After Dark 2011 returns for another unique night run on October 29

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 2011: Beats, Latin heat, a fireworks display and fantasy costumes. Did we mention that it’s a fun run? adobo magazine is set to mount the second edition of the Adobo Run After Dark on Saturday, October 29, 8pm at Aseana City in Pasay. Aseana City is near the Mall of Asia Complex on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, by Manila Bay.

Despite the popularity of running in the metro, night runs are still rare, making Adobo Run After Dark an unusual treat for serious runners and first-timers alike. The costumed run is expected to draw 5,000 runners in the 3k, 5k, and 15k race categories. Finisher’s medals will be given to the top 500 5k and 15k runners.

Powered by Meralco, in cooperation with St. Luke’s Medical Center, Pocari, McDonald’s, and Aseana City, Adobo Run After Dark 2011 this year’s run kickstarts the long weekend triduum of Halloween, All Saints and All Souls. It will be a Mardi Gras-style celebration with an after-run party with live music, free flowing beer, a sideline bazaar and spectacular performers.

“Aside from creative and effective advertising, adobo magazine has always stood for wellness and the environment. Aside from the annual Adobo Football Cup, adobo Run After Dark cements that thrust,” said Angel Guerrero, president and editor-in-chief of adobo magazine.

“Last year, we only had a few weeks to prepare, but we still pulled off a unique and exciting event. This year, we are preparing earlier for a bigger, better and more fun run that will bring together the industry as well as health enthusiasts of all backgrounds,” said Guerrero.

For the run, adobo magazine has tapped the services of Crush Communications, the advertising and events company that staged the World Cup Qualifier matches of the Philippine Azkals at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum last July. Project director is Edward Kho, a seasoned marathon runner and the run organizer behind the successful Corregidor International Half-Marathon and the “Last Man Running” event of Rogin-E.
