Bob Greenberg steps in to replace Bob Scarpelli as Titanium & Integrated Jury President

London – This year’s elite Titanium and Integrated Jury, which awards breakthrough ideas and the best integrated campaigns, will now be chaired by Bob Greenberg, Chairman, CEO and Global Chief Creative Officer of R/GA. He takes over from Bob Scarpelli, DDB Worldwide’s Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, who contracted an infection and is recovering. However, while he is on the mend, travel is not possible at this time.
Bob Greenberg has been a pioneer in the advertising and communications industry for over three decades. Bob leads the vision for R/GA, an agency that serves as the digital partner for Fortune 500 companies and world-renowned brands including Nike, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal Paris, MasterCard, Hewlett-Packard, Nokia and Walmart. The agency has offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Singapore, São Paulo and will soon open in Buenos Aires.

R/GA is one of the world’s most influential advertising agencies, emphasising the importance of integrated strategies, creative excellence and innovative technology. Bob and his brother Richard founded R/Greenberg Associates in 1977 with the idea of creating a company that values design, while focusing on developing leading-edge motion graphics and live-action film and video production. The company created groundbreaking visual effects for movies, including Alien, Predator, Seven and Zelig. R/GA’s body of work spans 400 feature films and 4,000 television commercials.
In the mid 90s, Bob successfully transitioned the company into a multi-platform advertising agency specialising in database-driven information and multi-channel e-businesses. R/GA served as the lead digital partner for the world’s most recognised brands and embraced the importance of integrated strategies in a new media environment.

Under Bob’s leadership, R/GA was recently recognised by Adweek as the Digital Agency of the Decade, has been listed on Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Advertising & Marketing Companies, Advertising Age’s Agencies of the Decade and Agency A-List, named as Creativity’s Interactive Agency of the Year and honoured by Campaign, naming Nike+ as one of the Top Ten Digital Ads of the Decade.

Among his most notable awards are the 2007 BDA Lifetime Achievement Award, Clio Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Communications in 2003 that honours the best in American design, and the Chrysler Design Award for Innovation in Design. He was also the 2004 Cyber Lions Jury President and was a member of the 2005 Titanium Lions Jury.

"We are obviously very sorry that Bob Scarpelli – a great friend of many in this industry and the man who has presided over some of the most innovative work in our business – cannot travel to Cannes to be with us this year, and we wish him all the best," says Philip Thomas, CEO of the Festival. "We are delighted, though, that Bob Greenberg will be joining us. With his extraordinary creative pedigree and experience across many channels of communication, he will be an excellent leader for the world-class Titanium and Integrated Jury."

Commenting, Bob Greenberg said, "These are truly unfortunate circumstances and I wish Bob Scarpelli a speedy recovery. It is an honour to be selected to step in as President of the highly esteemed Titanium and Integrated Jury. I will rely on the high caliber jury to evaluate and choose not only the most innovative and breakthrough work, but also campaigns that demonstrate integration and consistency across the breadth of media today."
