SM Companies clinch nine wins at the 21st Philippine Quill Awards

PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES – The SM Group reaffirmed its commitment to purposeful communication as it brought home nine accolades at the 21st Philippine Quill Awards, one of the country’s most prestigious recognitions in business communication, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines.

SM Investments Corporation (SM Investments), the group’s parent company, earned two Quill Awards for its 2024 Integrated Report and its Euro Medium-Term Notes (EMTN) Program. The latter cited the company’s effective strategic communication in issuing its USD500 million debt notes, its largest international bond issuance since 2014.

SM Foundation also won two awards for its storytelling and advocacy platforms: “Uplifting Lives through Social Good”and “We Care: The SM Foundation Newsletter.” Meanwhile, SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, was honored for its flagship youth advocacy program, the Global Youth Summit, held in partnership with the Global Peace Foundation.

SM Supermalls received recognition for Toy Fezt, an event celebrating toy culture, fandom, and creativity.

From the banking sector, BDO Unibank, Inc. was awarded for its digital communication strategy via the BDO Kabayan Facebook Page, catering to the needs of overseas Filipinos. China Banking Corporation (Chinabank) secured two awards for its Brand Refresh Program, a comprehensive initiative modernizing its image and strengthening customer engagement, and for its digital campaign, “Focused on You.”

Now in its 21st year, the Philippine Quill Awards celebrates organizations and professionals who exemplify the highest global standards of excellence in communication practices, highlighting impactful storytelling, advocacy, and innovation across industries.
