Digital: “Love, Linya-Linya” Filipino content creators remind us of the good things in life in new video series

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – As we go through our everyday battles and struggles, it is also important to remind ourselves of the things that keep us going– those that keep us happy!

“2020 has been a tough year for all of us, and we think it’s important for us to sometimes take a step back and think about the good things we have, too. Sakto naman, dahil kahit very sentimental ang mga Pilipino, nakapaka-masayahin din nating tao,” says Ali Sangalang, co-owner and Creative Head of Linya-Linya.

With Love, Linya-Linya, the online-channel-turned-merch-brand highlights the little things in life that make us smile — from our favorite food to different mundane objects present in every Filipino household. Through these one-minute videos, Linya-Linya writes a letter to featured items with their signature charm, wit and punny humor.

“When you see something recurring to every household, it becomes part of culture and tradition. Gusto lang naming ipaalala ang mga bagay na nagpapa-Pinoy sa atin araw-araw,” says Sangalang.

So far, Linya-Linya has released two episodes — the first being an ode to the classic Filipino dish Adobo, and the second being every mom’s favorite — the tupperware container for all seasons.

A line from the Dear Adobo episode: “Bukod sa you’re so adorbs at busog ako sa pagmamahal mo? Simple ka lang: suka, toyo, bawang, paminta, laman. ‘Yan ang gusto ko sa’yo– simple ka lang, pero may laman.”

More than just comic relief, the series gives us a different perspective to everyday objects. We’re invited to take a more thoughtful glance on the simplicity and reliability of the things that are always accessible to us. The episodes provide a sense of familiarity by highlighting the distinct quirks and experiences we can all relate with.

By shining a spotlight on our collective unconscious (and tickling our hearts in the process), Love, Linya-Linya somehow brings us together even though we’re apart.

You can catch the latest releases of Love, Linya-Linya at all Linya-Linya channels: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
