GLOBAL, JANUARY 2011 – YoungGuns has revealed the winners and finalists of its 2010 competition, which honors the best young talent globally in Digital, Advertising, Media and Design. There were 14 Gold Bullets, 48 Silver Bullets and 49 Bronze Bullets from 17 countries awarded with 57 Finalists from the thousands of entries submitted.
Douglas Goh from McCann Erickson Malaysia was named the 2010 Professional YoungGun of the Year and also the first YoungGun of the Year from Asia. Advertising Agency of the Year is DDB New Zealand; Digital Agency of the Year, CPB Group, USA; and the Design Agency of the Year, Kinetic Singapore.
The United States was the top country in the awards with 29 Bullets, of which two were Gold. Australia was a close second, also with two Gold Bullets, 27 Bullets in total. New Zealand is a distant third with 12 Bullets, two of them Gold. In fourth and fifth places were Singapore (8 Bullets in all) and France (7 Bullets total), both with two Gold Bullets each.
In the Student awards, 2 Gold Bullets, 9 Silver Bullets, and 11 Bronze Bullets were awarded with 12 Finalists from the hundreds of entries. The 2010 YoungGuns Student YoungGuns of the Year are Raúl Cosculluela, Nikolai Shorr, Bona Jeong, HyoJoo Kim, Chung Woo Lee, Gue Rim Lee from SVA Unconventional Advertising, New York, USA. The 2010 YoungGuns School of the Year is SVA Unconventional Advertising, New York, USA
Two winners were selected in Creative Brief: Gian Jonathan, Astri Nursalim and Pann Lim for The Refill Project, and Matthew Nankivell for Drop 1 Product with Woolworths.
