PHILIPPINES – Troubled carrier Philippine Airlines has invited agencies to pitch for projects said to be related to its 75th year in service. The flag carrier has not invited any of its incumbent agencies, according to unnamed sources who spoke to Campaign Singapore.
Asia’s oldest airline has been beleaguered by labor woes, which heightened in recent weeks because of deadlocks in internal talks. Several flights have been canceled because of pilots and crew leaving out of dissatisfaction with reported policies on retirement and pay. The flight attendants’ union and PAL management will resume negotiations next week.
