Meta announced that Dhruv Vohra as Managing Director, Global Business Group, Southeast Asia. He will lead the company’s commercial strategy across Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, reporting to Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific.

Vohra takes over a region where the commerce playbook is being rewritten in real time: shoppers discover products in feeds, close deals in chat threads, and buy in bursts around mega sale events. He has spent seven years at Meta close to that shift, joining in 2019 as Director for e-commerce and digital natives, working with the platforms that reshaped how the region shops, then leading small and medium business growth in Southeast Asia before expanding that remit across all of Asia Pacific. He now returns to the region where he started.

“Southeast Asia is one of Meta’s fastest-growing business regions, and the work ahead is helping businesses leverage AI and messaging at the pace their customers already expect,” said Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific, Meta.

“Dhruv has spent seven years close to those businesses, and he has built the teams that support millions of them. He is the right person for this next phase,” he added.

Dhruv is also a recognized voice on the region’s digital economy. He writes a regular LinkedIn column, Small to Scale: Inside APAC’s Innovative SMBs, chronicling how businesses have transformed the way they sell, and was a key contributor to the SYNC Southeast Asia thought leadership series on the digital consumer landscape and e-commerce trends in the region.

“Southeast Asia is one of the most dynamic and creative regions in the world. Trends such as business messaging and live shopping found early adopters here. No two markets here behave the same way, and the businesses growing fastest here have outgrown the borders they started in. AI has opened up even more possibilities. Working with our teams and partners to help more businesses innovate is a real privilege,” Dhruv said.
