Awards: GIGIL Agency brings home 3 golds and 1 silver at the 2021 Marketing Excellence Awards

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Off to a roaring start is independent agency GIGIL Philippines, bringing home 1 silver trophy at the 2021 Marketing Excellence Awards (MEA) for their effort for Allianz PNB Life. The agency also received 3 golds for their tactical promo campaign for Seasons Juices and Fruits Philippines.

“More than creative awards, this recognition gratifies us, knowing that with our ideas, we’ve helped boost our clients’ businesses,” shares Jake Yrastorza, Managing Partner of GIGIL.

There was no suspension of the celebration of 2021’s most marketing effective campaigns despite COVID, with the awards ceremony hosted by regional publication Marketing Interactive last January 28, 2022.


Seasons made waves with the tactical promo campaign “Cash Prizes Araw-Araw Base sa Sikat ng Araw and Plantation Pachinko,” topping 3 categories, namely Excellence in Communication/Public Relations, Excellence in Event Marketing, and Excellence in Gamification. They also managed to get nominated for the category Excellence in Response to COVID-19.

The tactical campaign hauled a 66% increase in sales in 2021 (versus the last 3 months indoors with perfect store executions). With the campaign, not only did Seasons and GIGIL help sales in a declining category, but they also provided a ray of sunshine amidst life in the Philippines suspended by the pandemic.

On the other hand, Allianz PNB Life’s “Project Sustainable Future” snatched a silver for Excellence in Brand Awareness/Strategy.

“’No Filter,’ which came out in June 2021, was an important part of 2021’s marketing campaigns and brand building, alongside CSR via Ride Safe, our endorser Alyssa Valdez, and our Distribution’s Department’s sales efforts. ‘No Filter’ helped contribute to the recall and branding of Allianz PNB Life and the company in total enjoyed a rise from 8 in Q3 2020 to 4 in Q3 2021 in ranking for new business annual premium equivalent, according to the Insurance Commission,” says Allianz Chief Marketing Officer, Gino Riola.
