Creative LIAisons 2024 kicks off, 10 young Philippine advertising creatives join as mentees

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Creative LIAisons 2024 program has officially commenced in Las Vegas, running from September 30 to October 04. This unique initiative, organized by the London International Awards (LIA), aims to nurture and develop young advertising talent from around the world. As LIA emphasizes, “Creativity is the most valuable asset in our business today. You can’t teach creativity, but you can coach talent.”

The Philippines is proudly represented by four exceptional young creatives who have emerged from the adobo LIA Young Creative Competition, a key part of adobo Magazine‘s long-standing partnership with LIA of more than a decade. The competition provides young professionals a platform to showcase their skills for a chance to attend the Creative LIAisons program in Las Vegas.

The grand winners of the 2023 and 2024 competitions who are currently in Las Vegas to attend the enriching on-site program are:

  • Ice Reyes, Art Director, Blackpencil Manila
  • Franc Kevin Mangahas, Associate Creative Director, Octopus & Whale
  • Jillian Librodo, Associate Creative Director, GIGIL
  • Hannah Alyne Ypil, Social Content Creator, BBDO Guerrero

Additionally, the runner-ups from the 2024 competition are taking part in the virtual program, namely: 

  • Julian Bato, Copywriter, Dentsu Creative Philippines
  • Celine Hembrador, Art Director, Dentsu Creative Philippines

Furthermore, various agencies in the country also nominated talented creatives to tune in to the virtual program:

  • Bea Casin, Art Director, Digitas Philippines
  • Ramon Paolo Garcia, Junior Copywriter at Digitas Philippines

This year’s Creative LIAisons mentees can definitely look forward to an immersive experience through numerous insightful talks, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Mentees will also have the opportunity to engage directly with some of the biggest names in marketing and advertising, including Malcolm Poynton, Global Chief Creative Officer of Cheil Worldwide.

This year’s onsite mentees can also look forward to the “Create and Make” workshop produced in partnership with BMF, Superplastic, and TikTok. Panelists for this workshop include Nancy Bennett, Experiential Creative Producer, Superplastic; Anthony Dever, Head of Creative & Brand Consultancy, TikTok; Tara McKenty, Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Creative Director, BMF; and Jennifer van Dijk, CEO of Superplastic.

The virtual program, on the other hand, complements the onsite experience by offering one-to-one virtual mentoring sessions with established industry leaders. Philippine advertising leaders Joey David Tiempo, Founder and CEO of Octopus & Whale, and Merlee Jayme, Chairmom and Founder of The Misfits Camp, are some of this year’s esteemed virtual coaches.

Creative LIAisons not only showcases emerging talent but also provides invaluable learning experiences that can propel careers forward. As attendees immerse themselves in this dynamic environment, they will gain insights that could shape the future of advertising.
