Battle royale with a twist at Singapore’s Crowbar Seminar for young creatives

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, JUNE 22, 2011 – The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore (4As) is proud to present the Crowbar Seminar to be held on August 4, 2011 at Nanyang Polytechnic Auditorium.  

In line with this year’s fighting theme, the event will feature renowned industry practitioners across diverse disciplines sharing their insights on succeeding in the highly competitive advertising and creative field. Tailored for students looking to pursue a career in the creative field, the seminar allows participants to gain an opportunity to learn more about the workings of the dynamic industry directly from these veterans.
 
“We are very excited with this year’s seminar speakers. Each of them is carefully selected based on their background to share a variety of current industry topics that we believe will boost the students fighting chance of excelling in this competitive arena,” said Pann Lim and Jonathan Yuen, Chairmen for this year’s Crowbar Festival for young creatives.
 
This year’s accomplished line-up of speakers headlining the seminar boast an impressive portfolio achieved in their profession and will be touching on a variety of topics during the session:
 
Joji Jacob, Executive Creative Director, DDB & RAPP Singapore, will present “If I Were You”, key lessons a young creative should know through an introspective look into the success achieved and mistakes committed during his 16 years in the advertising industry. Yasser Suratman and Edmund Seet, founders and creators at the Bureau for the Advancement of Lifestyle and Longevity and Success, will talk about “Taking the Scenic Route”, the inner workings of an agency through light-hearted anecdotes.

Melvyn Lim, Executive Creative Director, OgilvyOne Worldwide Singapore, will go 27 years back with “1984”, A lesson on creating memories via memorable experiences. Dr Gregor Halff, Associate Professor and Area Coordinator of Corporate Communication (Practice), Singapore Management University will discuss “Your Design: What the Media Sees, Thinks, and How Do They React?”,  insights into how publicity for campaigns is gained through an examination of the relationship between advertising and media.
