MANILA, MARCH 22. 2013 – BBDO Guerrero joined 47 others in receiving the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) "Ani ng Dangal" award, presented at the culminating event of the Philippine Arts Festival.
Now on its fifth year, Ani ng Dangal was created to recognize natural-born Filipino artists or groups who bagged accolades at international competitions or festivals in the preceding year.
BBDO Guerrero was called up for its work on Pepsi ‘Liter of Light’ project, Saridon’s ‘Persistent Headache’ campaign, and the Department of Tourism’s ‘It’s More Fun In The Philippines’ campaign.
“We are truly honored to be commended for our work, more so for our work that helped improve the lives of thousands of people in our country," said David Guerrero, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO Guerrero. "We congratulate all the awardees and we are happy to be part of this group.”
Also accepting the citation were film directors Brillante Mendoza ("Thy Womb") and Marlon Rivera (“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank”), also the president and chief creative officer of Publicis Manila; and Kenneth Cobonpue ("Cabaret Sofa"), who graced the cover of adobo Magazine‘s January/February 2013 issue.
Professor Felipe De Leon, Jr, chairman of NCCA, claimed this to be “A truly bountiful harvest of honors in the arts. As the NCCA continues to recognize our fellow artists who had outstanding achievements in international competitions, we are proud to say that every year, the number of ‘Ani ng Dangal’ awardees has immensely increased – a manifestation of the Filipinos’ innate talents and versatility.”
