Creative Rankings, Agency of the Year and people, agency profiles and more in adobo magazine’s latest issue

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 28, 2012 – adobo magazine presents another bumper issue for 2012, the 170-page green issue, printed on recycled paper, highlights eco-friendly businesses, adobo’s annual Creative Rankings and the 4As Agency of the Year Awards, along with trends and analysis.

Retail taipan Ben Chan, the founder and owner of Philippine clothing brand Bench, is the cover story as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary. Chan discusses his inspirations, accomplishments and the international recognition Bench has gained as it expands its footprint to include global markets. Chan also looks back on his unique vision in guiding Bench on its overseas forays against established international clothing brands.

As this eco and CSR-focused issue shows, green is the new black. The green/CSR report focuses on dubious greenwash practices and companies that are getting it right on the green front, personalities who are making a difference such as Illac Diaz and his multi-award winning ‘Liter of Light’ and the capitalism with heart model embraced by young Filipinos such as Krie Lopez with her Messy Bessy Venture, ECHOsystem, Human Nature among others.

With Cinemalaya having ended another successful run, the Trendspotting section spotlights industry professionals who are at home creating work for the small and big screens.

The issue is all about creative talent – the adobo Creative Rankings features top creative talent in a multi-category index compiled by external auditor, Punongbayan & Araullo (P&A). The auditor has ranked both agencies and individual agency talent as well as key support sectors.

There is also extensive coverage of the Agency of the Year winners, led by TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno, which again took home the Agency of the Year and Best in Creative honors.

The issue also delves into the minds of some of the region’s top creatives: Joji Jacob and Thomas Yang, DDB Singapore’s dynamic duo, discuss their partnership and the inspiration behind their award-winning campaigns; Graham Fink, Ogilvy & Mather China’s chief creative officer, talks about his talented creative find Jonathan Mak and the partnership that delivered a Cannes Grand Prix.

Local indie shop Seven A.D. and powerhouse Dentsu Global showcase opportunities at both ends of the scale spectrum in The Firm section.

adobo magazine also pays tribute to advertising maverick turned blockbuster director, the late Tony Scott, looking back at the fast and frenetic style he brought to TV campaigns, and the Olympic legacy from London’s summer of record-breaking competition, which saw social networking emerge as an Olympic sport in its own right.

The local news section covers the Philippine Department of Tourism’s hunt for a new media agency partner, changes at Ogilvy & Mather and Harrison Communications, the Recma billings report and Aegis Media’s new Consumer Connection System which, for the first time, features Philippine findings.
