Grey Australia rolls out new management in Canberra

ASIA-PACIFIC – CANBERRA, Australia, 25 July 2012 – Grey Australia has appointed Tony Mansfield as its new general manager to head operations in Canberra. The former head of strategy and account management at Hulsbosch Design, one of Australia’s most successful independent design agencies, assumed his duties at Grey Canberra effective today.
 
Mansfield brings with him over a decade of experience in brand identity and communications, advising many of Australia’s biggest brands. From global brands in fast moving consumer goods, to Australia’s largest consulting and professional services firms, Allens Linklaters and Deloitte, through to telecommunications giant, Telstra and retailers, Woolworths Limited and Rebel Sport. He also brings with him rich government experience cultivated during his role as executive leader at Manidis Roberts and national government agencies such as the Department of Human Services, the Australian Communications and Media Authority, the National Broadband Network, the New South Wales Department of Transport as well as with state agencies in the energy sector.
 
Another recent hire witnessed at Grey Canberra was the appointment of Matt Johnson as creative director. Johnson is a 16-year industry veteran who has led creative campaigns for some of the world’s most prestigious brands – American Express, Hyundai, CommSec, Kimberley Clarke, Sanitarium, Glaxo Smith Kline, KFC, Pizza Hut, Diageo, Coca Cola Amatil and various New South Wales government departments.
 
Prior to joining Grey, he spent ten years of his career with the STW Group, Australia’s largest communications group in Australia and New Zealand where he held senior positions
 
at Ogilvy and The Brand Shop, which during his tenure made history by being nominated for “Emerging Agency of the Year” and “Agency of the Year” by both AdNews and B&T publications. Before his STW stint, he cut his teeth at DDB Sydney, which was voted ‘Most Creative Agency in Australia’ by Campaign Brief Asia.
