LOCAL, MANILA, 10 MAY 2013 – An 80’s themed bash was set up for National Geographic last May 7 at the Amber Ultra Lounge, at The Fort Strip in Manila in celebration of their new series entitled, “The 80’s: The Time Of Our Lives.” They left nothing to the imagination as they treated the guests to a night of 80’s style disco. Amber was literally filled with a deluge of mirror balls and slinkys among other things that put one in mind of the good old days in the 80’s. A customized Rubik’s cube design greeted the guests at the façade, contributing to the aura of playfulness and liveliness that characterizes the 80’s.
Ever the entertainer, popular Philippine 80’s icon Jojo Alejar, a prominent member of the youth oriented variety show “That’s Entertainment” hosted the evening, employing his wit and humor to charm the crowd. The highlight of the event was its exclusive first screening of the first episode of the series.
“The 80’s: The Time Of Our Lives” promulgates the historical events and people of the era that made an impact on the world. The series aims to gather interviews from distinguished personalities, from celebrities to media titans, with the purpose of creating a collective biography showcasing the period’s pivotal point.
Narrated by British actor Richard E. Grant, the series will officially premiere on the National Geographic Channel on May 20, 10 pm, bringing back the
nostalgia.
