Melissa Crucillo departs OgilvyOne for CEO role in JWT

THE PHILIPPINES, MAY 30, 2012: OgilvyOne Philippines managing director Melissa Crucillo signs off after three years as she takes the chief executive officer role in JWT Manila effective August 15.
Crucillo will replace former JWT Manila CEO Jos Ortega now Havas Media Ortega’s chairman and CEO.
The height of Crucillo’s career was when she signed up Manny Pacquiao for Nike a few years before the boxer’s unprecedented rise which localized the "Just Do It" campaign and put the Philippines on the NIke global map. She was also the driving force behind OgilvyOne’s Digital Agency of the Year award in last year’s Agency of the Year show.
During late 1980’s, she started out in media planning and account management in Ace Saatchi & Saatchi then shifted to Ogilvy & Mather Philippines. She then joined newly formed BBDo Guerrero Ortega as business director and assigned later as regional account director in the network’s Singapore office. In 2002, Crucillo reunited with Ogilvy on regional business, first in Taiwan, then in Singapore. She then moved to Nike as country marketing manager for the Philippines, and later South East Asia Category business lead. It was when she handled Nike Women’s digital brief that paved way for her return to Ogilvy in 2010.
“I am delighted to welcome Melissa on board as our new Manila CEO. She has what it takes, both personally and professionally, to guide our team in this key, leadership role,” said Michael Maedel, president, JWT Asia Pacific.
Crucillo will be working along side JWT Manila’s management team, which includes Miriam Pangan, client services director, David Ferrer, executive creative director, Jeff Sulit, chief finance officer and executive planning director, Pam Garcia.
David Mayo, president of Ogilvy ASEAN pays tribute to Crucillo’s departure saying: "Meli is a close friend and a great talent and she has earned this step up to run one of our sister companies. Of course we will miss her greatly but this is a good opportunity for her and she will remain a part of our extended family. We wish her well and I know she will succeed."
