GLOBAL, 20 MAY, 2013 – R/GA Sydney announced that it has hired Bryan Jones as its new senior technical director. Jones will help form the office’s technological strategies and capabilities and is also to work with clients at senior level in order to help them develop technology solutions. Jones’ appointment is envisioned to help R/GA’s office grow its technology team and also help brands in the Pacific Rim region craft new digital platforms. He will report to John Mayo-Smith, EVA, chief technology officer of R/GA.
Jones was formerly national technology director of SapientNitro in Australia. Prior to this, he was a technical lead for SapientNitro and was assigned to their Chicago office where he was in charge of building global development teams in different countries, including India, Canada and Australia, where he worked with global brands including Unilever, Coca-Cola, Luxottica, Chrysler and Harley-Davidson.
