Qantas, Droga 5 offer in-flight experience that lasts from cover to cover

ASIA-PACIFIC – AUSTRALIA, MAY 20, 2013 – Australian airline Qantas, with creative agency Droga 5 and publishing house Hachette, is urging passengers to put down their Kindle and pick up a good book.

‘Stories for Every Journey’ is a collection of ten bespoke novels edited over three months by Hachette’s editorial directors, offered specifically to Qantas frequent flyers. Each book is tailored to last only for the duration of route that the passenger is on, offering an experiential journey not only from one place to another but also from cover to cover.

Droga5 Sydney creative head David Nobay explains that even as we sit into the tablet era, the humble paperback novel has still found a bulwark and it’s way up at 40,000 feet. The novels fall under non-fiction, thrillers and crime-based stories, which according to research top the most read categories among Qantas Platinum Flyers.

Award-winning art director/designer Paul Belford, who has worked on campaigns for The Economist and Sony Playstation, designed the book covers.
