Fifth Wall Fest takes to Art Fair PH 2023 with a multimedia exhibit that goes beyond traditional ways of presenting dance

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — FIFTH WALL FEST, the country’s premier platform for dance on camera, has now extended its reach through Art Fair Philippines 2023.

True to its namesake and ethos, FIFTH WALL FEST’s debut aims to weave meaningful connections for dance and surrounding creative disciplines. Moving beyond traditional ways of presenting dance with a multimedia exhibit entitled “PWESTO. TEKA… RAMPA!”

PWESTO. TEKA… RAMPA! by FIFTH WALL FEST is a space that highlights the interplay between the creative fields of fashion, photography, art, and dance. We invite you to experience the visceral feelings evoked by moving bodies within and beyond the frames.

The exhibit will be a mix of a physical booth installation and a site-specific performance:

PWESTO. — Taking inspiration from the meaning of the word, this physical space will feature works from Koji Arboleda’s “Always On My Mind” and Renzo Navarro’s “Plus Minus”, both exclusive photo collections for FIFTH WALL FEST. The booth will also showcase an installation made in collaboration with Carl Jan Cruz.

Catch PWESTO. from February 17 to 19, 10 AM to 9 PM at 7/F, The Link, Booth # INCUB2.

TEKA… (All the world’s a stage — take a pause and see.)

RAMPA! — In an effort to resurface the everyday presence of movement, a site-specific performance by FIFTH WALL FEST that integrates dance, fashion, art, and everyday life will take shape. Encounter a variety of motions emanating from a singular movement on February 17 at 5 PM and 8 PM at The Link.

Fair tickets can be purchased here.

Tickets will also be available at the reception area of Art Fair Philippines from February 17 to 19. For more updates on the exhibit, please follow FIFTH WALL FEST on Instagram and sign up for its newsletters here.

PWESTO. TEKA… RAMPA! by FIFTH WALL FEST is made possible by Search Mindscape Foundation and in collaboration with Carl Jan Cruz.

“We are thrilled to be making our debut at this year’s Art Fair, which also happens to be their 10th anniversary! Being here only reinforces our mission to make dance more accessible to a wide range of individuals within and beyond the community. A nod to the dance present in everyday life, guests can anticipate a treat for the senses as we express movement exclusively crafted for the fair. The line between performer and spectator will be blurred,” Madge Reyes, FIFTH WALL FEST Founder and Festival Director, said.
