Samsung introduces stylish accessories for Galaxy Z series in collaboration with emerging artists

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Samsung Electronics has unveiled two new mobile accessories for the new Galaxy Z series, featuring the vibrant artwork of promising emerging artists. The collection of accessories includes one case each for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 and was released on August 11 through the Samsung e-Store in 11 countries worldwide, including France, Germany, Italy, the U.K., and the U.S.

Samsung collaborated with up-and-coming Korean artists who are making a global impact, Haydonna, Yeseul O, and Lee Eun, to provide Samsung.com customers with a distinctive way to make a style statement through their new Galaxy Z series devices. The selected artists showcase their colorful artistic perspectives and capture the positive voices of the younger generation.

Artists bring special customer experiences

Haydonna, an artist well known for her dynamic graphics and cheerful style, participated in the design of the Galaxy Z Fold5 case, incorporating her signature “Fluffy Friends” characters. Yeseul O, who creates original art using 3D, augmented reality (AR), and metaverse elements, and Lee Eun, known for her delightful paintings using vibrant colors, each collaborated with Samsung on a Galaxy Z Flip5 case. Yeseul O expresses the value of life’s small pleasures through her distinctive character called “Metabun_ny,” while artist Lee Eun incorporates messages of encouragement for people into her designs.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip5, Yeseul O and Lee Eun’s artworks are recreated as animated designs using near-field communication (NFC) technology, providing customers with a new and immersive experience. Once users insert the “Flipsuit card” with NFC technology into the case, the image of the card is displayed as an animation on the Flex Window of the Galaxy Z Flip5’s external screen.

Samsung’s collaboration with these three artists in the design of the Galaxy Z series accessories aligns with the emerging concept of “Wholesomeness.” Wholesomeness aims to spread positive influence through messages of positivity, kindness, empathy, and inclusiveness, in contrast to negativity, criticism, and confrontation.
