Campaign Spotlight: Amnesty Norway wants you to know that physical distancing is NOT temporary for the LGBT community in 68 countries

NORWAY – This spring, we all lost something most of us took for granted: The freedom to be in physical contact with the ones we love. It has felt like a struggle to get through these months, but in the 68 countries worldwide where same-sex relations are a crime, this is everyday life for the LGBT community.

This heart-wrenching fact is the premise for the new LGBT campaign from human rights non-governmental organization Amnesty Norway, encouraging everyone to support the fight for human rights. And this support is even more important now that the yearly Pride Parade in Oslo is cancelled in its physical form due to the pandemic.

For this group of people there is no comfort in knowing that these restraints are temporary, as they will not disappear with the pandemic. Until enough people around the world rally to change these inhumane laws, the dream of unrestricted love for the LGBT community remains just that – a dream.

The sombre and thought-provoking film is directed by Martin de Thurah, created by Anorak and produced by Bacon.
