Campaign Spotlight: “Basta’t Kapiling Ka, Masaya ang Pasko,” Coca-Cola and Sarah G spreads cheer with new Christmas tune

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Even with the pandemic, there is still one thing Pinoys are still looking forward to: it’s the Christmas Season and all the good tidings it brings. The coming together of families and loved ones, the gift-giving, and the get-togethers over a hearty feast. And what’s a holiday get together – even one dressed down because of the challenges of the times — without music?

Upbeat and inspiring, the new song, aptly entitled “Basta’t Kapiling Ka, Masaya ang Pasko” and composed by Thyro Alfaro, is sure to tug at the heart and stir emotions; its message authentic, relatable, and brings forth our thoughts and inner feelings—putting them into words and melodies.

This new Christmas song is not only quickly overtaking the airwaves but is also fast becoming a viral hit. Its official launch music video on YouTube has since garnered over 500K views, while on Spotify, the song is also getting download traction, reminding us that even as Christmas brings with it many changes, the best gift we can give is spending time with family and loved ones. 

Some lines that capture the uplifting message of the song include: “Nag-iba man ang takbo/ng ating kwento/’di matitinag ang diwa ng pasko” (Our story may have changed but the Christmas spirit will never go away). Truly, even as the unexpected happens and our lives take a radically different turn, the true spirit of Christmas will always remain a solid constant: togetherness, generosity, and the promise of a better tomorrow.

 “Ang pinaka-magandang regalo/ang sa puso’y magkasama tayo/” (The most beautiful gift is for us to be together in our hearts). And even if times may be unlike any other, spending quality time and sharing a meal together with those we hold near and dear still carries a special meaning, more so over ice-cold Coca-Cola.
