IHG keeps up global marketing reputation with Ogilvy PR’s appointment

GLOBAL – UNITED KINGDOM, AUGUST 16, 2013 – Following a two-way pitch, Ogilvy Public Relations has been appointed by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to support its global marketing brief, shaping IHG’s reputation and increasing awareness among creative industries across the globe.

The appointment goes along with IHG’s collaboration with WPP earlier this year, a consistent approach to deliver against the IHG strategy. This brings both the agencies’ resources of IHG under one roof and work together as one integrated family of agencies.

Ogilvy PR/London director Iain Bundred will supervise the team from Ogilvy PR’s Corporate and Public Affairs practice who will work on to showcase and celebrate the best of IHG’s creative marketing across its portfolio of hotel brands, as well as engaging top marketers externally.

“We are very pleased to be working with Ogilvy PR to build awareness of IHG’s strong and innovative brand marketing capabilities. Our brands are at the heart of everything we do and we were looking for an agency that understood this and could deliver strong results through creative but practical ideas,” said Tamara Strauss, IHG director, Global Cross Brand Communications, IHG.

Bundred said: “This is a really exciting brief and we look forward to engaging our industry peers with IHG’s rich marketing story and storytellers. We will be working with partners across the Ogilvy Group and WPP as we engage the best and brightest across the marketing mix.“
