MANILA, PHILIPPINES — With heat indexes frequently surpassing 40°C (104°F) in many different areas, summer in the Philippines brings not just discomfort but also health risks for millions of Filipinos.

As temperatures soar, simple tasks like walking a few meters or waiting for your ride can feel challenging. Because of this, The Air Authority, Carrier Philippines, and agency partner Ace Saatchi & Saatchi wanted to make the commuting experience a little bit better by making waiting for a bus a breeze — quite literally.

In one of the main streets in BGC, Carrier Philippines launched the “Carrier Cool Spot,” the first of its kind bus stop that has a larger than life split-type air conditioner display on top. It’s not just for show — the air conditioner blows cool, refreshing air to commuters waiting at the bus stop to make the usual tedious and uncomfortable wait for a cool and comfortable experience.

Carrier Philippines is known to provide cooling comfort in people’s homes, and this time, true to its tagline, “The Air Authority,” it challenged itself to enhance the overall commuter experience by making a tangible improvement in people’s daily lives. Understanding the discomfort the summer heat brings, this OOH campaign offers a solution that provides comfort and convenience.

The response to the campaign has been overwhelmingly positive, with several saying that the Carrier Cool Spot might just be what people need this summer. Aside from posts from commuters, there have been photos and reels online saying that the bus stop is the perfect cool-down for runners and also a chill-out spot for fur babies after a walk.

The next time you find yourself walking around BGC and need a refreshing place to stay — look no further than the Carrier Cool Spot. With its cool breeze and refreshing atmosphere, it’s not just a bus stop, but also a welcome reprieve from the summer sun.
