Cannes Jury Singles out Leigh Reyes

Philippine Daily Inquirer, representative to the Cannes International Advertising Festival, announced that Leigh Reyes, ECD of Y&R Philippines has just been selected to join advertising stalwarts in one of the most prestigious of juries, the Cannes Lions Radio Jury.  She bested male counterparts for the plum position.
Her last win speaks volumes of her creativity.  The Soroptomist print series is her most awarded work yet, gaining accolades from international award-giving bodies such as D&AD, One Show, London International Advertising Awards, New York Festivals, ADFEST, and AWARD.  Aside from inspiring women, the Soroptomist series is pivotal in putting the Philipppines on the Clio map. It won the country’s first-ever Gold Clio and World Press Gold.
When she was in Basic/FCB Advertising, Leigh became one of the youngest in Philippine history to get promoted to creative director.  She moved up the ladder within just five years in the agency.  Her work for Caritas Manila helped seal the creative directorial job for her.
Wanting of offshore exploits and an inimitable experience, Leigh packed up her bags to work as head of Creative in FCB/CIS in Jakarta, Indonesia.  After two years, Basic made an offer to lure her back.  And they did, welcoming her as its new executive creative director.
In 2003, however, Leigh transferred to Y&R Philippines.  Under her leadership, Y&R finally gained recognition as a creative-driven agency in 2005.  Her appointment as president of the Creative Guild of the Philippines in 2006 was quite timely.
Leigh Reyes is only the second Filipina to be appointed into the Cannes Lions Jury.  The first  was Emily Abrera of McCann Worldgroup.  Her recent appointment is an affirmation of the empowerment of women in the male-dominated media and advertising industry.
