AdAsia 2013: Re-engineer advertising

ASIA PACIFIC – November 7, 2013 – AdAsia 2013 will be held from November 11 to 14 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.  This year’s theme is "Re-engineer advertising."

 
The congress begins with the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) International Council meeting and a welcome party for all delegates. 
 
Talks begin on November 12 with Draftfcb executive chairman Howard Draft on The Big Bang Theory, followed by Yahoo! Inc. senior vice president of Asia Pacific Rose Tsou on The Yahoo! Re-engineering Story.
 
Vietnam Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai will talk about advertising activities and new points in advertising law in Vietnam, followed by Google Asia-Pacific chief creative officer John Merrifield’s presentation, A World of Permanent Unrelenting Change.
 
Founding partner of Peppers & Rogers Group Don Peppers will talk about Extreme Trust: Competition in the Age of the Empowered Customer, while JWT – Asia Pacific CEO Tom Doctoroff will discuss Creating Brand Advocacy in an Era of Digital Empowerment. Day two will end with Dentsu Night, also at the National Convention Center. 
 
On November 13, author of the bestselling book "Brand Relevance: Making Competitors Irrelevant" David Allen Aaker will talk about Building a Winning Brand. This will be followed by Micromax co-founder and managing director Rahul Sharma’s talk, How to be a David in an Era of Multinational Goliaths.
 
DG Mediamind vice president of publisher sales Michael Barden will explore the poles of creativity and scale, followed by the Hakuhodo lunch. Millward Brown executive vice president and chief global analyst Nigel Hollis begins the afternoon session with his talk, Making Advertising Impressions More Impressive: using neuroscience tools to improve ad effectiveness.
 
Suntory Pepsico Vietnam COO & general director Mundlay Shekhar will present New Way to Understand Consumers, followed by a panel discussion moderated by AFAA vice chairman Raymond So. 
 
Next, Warc Asia managing director Edward Pank will present the AFAA Asia Advertising Trend Report, followed by Sung Kyun Kwan University Seoul Digital Media City chief planner Kim, Do-nyun’s talk, Digital Advertising and Urban Design: Augmented Place Making. 
 
Day 3 will end with the 2015 AsAsia Taipei Presentation and 2017 AdAsia Bidding. Also on November 13, Taipei Association of Advertising Agencies Night will be held at the Hanoi Hotel Grand Plaza.
 
The last day of the conference begins with Isobar global chief strategy officer and APAC CEO Jean Lin’s talk, Convergence 4.0. D2C Inc. CEO Takayuko Hoshuyama follows with his talk, Mobile Marketing Experiences in Japan and New Trend.
 
Dat Viet VAC Group Holdings founder, chairman and CEO Dinh Ba Thanh will present Social Media, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Exchange4media Group chairman and editor-in-chief Anurag Batra will moderate the panel discussion on Redefining Digital: Mankind’s Third Biggest Revolution with Visa India and South Asia marketing director Shubhranshu Singh and Nokia Life global head and vice president Jawahar Kanjilal.
 
Kantar Media Lunch will follow, before the afternoon sessions. Dentsu Network/Asia chairman and CEO Dick van Motman will give his talk, Reinventing Advertising – The Dentsu Way, to be followed by Manchester United managing director for Asia Pacific Jamie Reigle on Managing a Global Brand across Asia – Manchester United’s Story. 
 
Hakuhodo executive creative director and founder of Clipper Indochine Do Cao Nguyen a.k.a. Hien will give his talk, Re-Engineer Creativity. This will be followed by World Marketing Association president Hermawan Kartajaya’s talk on New Wave Marketing: Reframing the Communication.
 
The day ends with the 2014 DigiAsia Presentation and the announcement of AdAsia 2017. A farewell party will follow at Baoson Paradise Theme Park.
