Micky Domingo joins J. Romero as ECD

PHILIPPINES, NOVEMBER 17, 2010 – Former McCann Erickson and Blue Bottle Executive Creative Director Micky Domingo joins J. Romero & Associates as ECD on November 22, 2010.

Domingo became an independent creative this year after two years with Blue Bottle. His longest stint was with McCann, where he spent two decades, becoming ECD in 2000 until his departure in 2007. While there, he was the lead creative in the launch of Smart Communications. After the McCann-Smart breakup, Domingo became the lead creative at McCann’s sister agency Harrison Communications for the Globe Telecom account, where he played a major role in the development of the now-classic TV commercial starring a deaf-mute couple.

Andre Kahn, chairman of J. Romero, has this to say about him: “He has a sterling record for developing effective advertising. He always has his eye on selling and brand-building, and he has the capability to be surprising. We are convinced he is the right guy for JRA.”

Domingo expressed his excitement in joining the agency: “It is a shop to be admired, as it is one of the very few all-Filipino ad agencies that have survived the onslaught of global agency networks. It remains current, relevant and surprising. I consider it an honor that they should ask me to take the lead in creative."
