Campaign Spotlight: Dentsu Thailand and WMP Ask Thais to Stop #TheDailyFight

BANGKOK, THAILAND — Amidst the festivities of International Women’s Day, not everyone is celebrating. There are average of 5 women who suffer from domestic violence everyday in Thailand. And so to take action, the Women and Men Progressive Movement Foundation (WMP) has partnered with Dentsu Thailand to share the message in a very provoking way.

Just last month in the Thai Boxing Arena, the unexpected main event was a match between Lek Chanwit and Aey Napat, who were both actors unbeknownst to the audience. Their initial reaction was confusion followed by concern and anger while Lek started hitting his partner. As the crowd inside the arena was getting heated with what they were seeing, a video reel was flashed, revealing the truth behind the fight.

While a lot of physical assaults and abuses happen in public spaces, pedestrians are often too afraid to intervene or stop the fight. The campaign #TheDailyFight encouraged the audience to #Call1300 if ever they see domestic violence out in the open, to help avoid further damages and women involved in abusive relationships.
