News in brief: Bench in ANTM, Jamba Juice comes to Manila, GMA7 income down 30%

Georgina Wilson and Bench Body in America’s Next Top Model
Model-actress Georgina Wilson will be in America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) – not only to walk the catwalk but also as a guest stylist for the fashion reality show. Wilson will parade down the ramp in Bench, the clothing sponsor for the semi-finals challenge of ANTM; the “all-star” models of ANTM’s latest season will also be strutting their stuff in Bench Body – the girls were photographed in Crete Island, Greece.
 
Wilson and Bench join designers Michael Cinco and Oliver Tolentino in the roster of Filipinos featured in the popular modeling show.
 
The ANTM episode featuring Wilson aired in the US last November 9 and will be shown in the country on on November 14 on ETC Philippines.
 
Now you can Jamba in Manila
Aside from fried chicken and pastries and doughnuts, Max’s Group of Companies adds flavorful, healthy smoothies and juices to its portfolio of products, as it brings in Jamba Juice to the Philippines.
 
Jamba Juice Philippines will use locally grown bananas and mangoes in its products. Sharon Fuentebella, managing director of Jamba Juice Philippines, said that she hopes that these fruits will also be used in all Jamba Juice all over the world.
 
The Philippine branch, located in Bonifacio High Street Cetnral, is Jamba Juice’s first store in Southeast Asia.
 
GMA 7 reports 30% drop in income
GMA Network reported a 30 percent drop in net income to PHP 1.58B in January to September of 2011 compared to the PHP 2.27B earnings in the same period the previous year. This is due in part of the aggressive expansion projects of the broadcasting network, intent establishing its presence on key Filipino international markets.
 
The network also registered a 7% decline in total revenues due to the absence of political ads this year. Still, the industry’s top 30 advertisers grew their advertising accounts with the GMA by 36%, said the network in an official statement. Also, based on year-on-year earnings, revenues from international operations improved by 6% in dollar terms.
